In writing Saragosa, author Bill Wilbur has spun an excellent yarn about a small town and its citizens whose hearts and spirit are as vast and grand as the wilderness that surround them. From the various colorful terrains, to the steaming cups of coffee which are consumed, Mr. Wilbur describes it all with a talent that seems to almost place the reader within the pages themselves.
Throughout the story, we not only rediscover the values and moral conscious which were once the basis for building this great nation, but are also reminded, that it is these such values that set us apart from the villains and despots that have continuously sought to take control of the riches and freedoms which we have fought for.
With guns blazing and their courage and resolve intact, our heroes set wrong to right, suffering wounds as well as fatalities. All in the name of what is honest, and what is just. I believe that once you have begun to read Saragosa, you will find it quite difficult to put it back down.
An excellent yarn, indeed.

Step back into the shadows, take a deep breath and try not to be noticed. The stranger in SARAGOSA is Orin McNeel. His colt is tied down, but loose in the holster, and he’s here to confront his brother, Brody. But before they can settle their differences, The Sante Fe Ring decides to eliminate them both. With both men wounded and their only help an untried young deputy, they are about to face an army of deadly gunfighters hired by The Ring.
If you suffer any type of pulmonary weakness, don’t read this book. The final showdown is sure to put you in a shallow, unmarked grave. Bill Wilbur’s first western is a tough, thoughtful, beautifully written jolt of adrenaline that will have you dodging at loud noises for days. Bring on another one, Mister Wilbur. I’m ready.

FIVE BEACON REVIEW FOR SARAGOSA
by Bill Wilbur
Orin McNeel is a stranger in Saragosa. He has come to confront his brother, Brody. Differences need to be settled but before that happens the Santa Fe Ring plans on eliminating both brothers. After they both are wounded, it is left to a novice young deputy to face an army of the deadly gunfighters that have been hired to stop them at any cost. Can the Ring be stopped? Everything happens so fast after Orin lands in Saragosa, and not long after he proposes to his beautiful Sarah. Will he live to keep his promise to her and settle the misunderstanding with his brother?
Indians, cowboys, bad guys, good guys, lies, betrayal, pretty, women, Saragosa is a story that has it all. It is an incredible read, an exciting page-turner. There for a while I had to look up to make sure that I wasn’t watching a movie on TV, I was so caught up in the drama. The story draws the reader in and you get the complete feel of the old west, even the sounds of the spurs, and the sporadic gunfire. Not to mention the way a woman was meant to be kissed by a man, I loved that part. The brave characters depict real heart of the true Americans that made a difference in our world.
Bill Wilbur writes a top notch western that is filled with fast-pace action. He spins a tale that should be on the big screen. The story about the two brothers is gripping. His writing is intense yet flows smoothly as he paints a picturesque view that remains in the heart and mind and that is why I give this story a 5. Great cast of characters, graphic beauty and true believability makes this story a winner. I hope to read more from this author.
